hello from the city of angels! (more specifically, a kinkos in redondo beach.) i said goodbye to friends and family, left michigan, and began the first leg of my journey by hopping over to the west coast of the united states. i'm here to say hello, goodbye, and stand up in lindsay and tyler's wedding. talk about a blender of emotions! saying goodbye is never fun. but along with goodbye comes the anticipation of what's to come. in my case, a wedding and an around-the-world adventure...not to mention the spiritual growth opportunity of a lifetime! this week is kind of like a buffer period between normal life and the leap to ywam's aw80.
i love LA. i love my friends here even more. sean's family has put me up for the past two nights...and since sean, tyler and the rest of the boys are on their way down to mexico, i am currently in the driver's seat of the most amazing 1986 honda accord ever built. i feel a connection with sean's new vehicle, mostly because we're about the same age. awesome. the accord and i have spent the afternoon at the end of avenue c in redondo beach. i couldn't have asked for a better day to sit on a bench at the beach! i've missed the ocean. carly gets off work at 5, and then it's go-time.
we have two days to prepare for a bridal luncheon, bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner AND a wedding. since craziness is about to ensue, i probably won't have time to write again until next week. and then i will be skipping from LA to auckland, and jumping from auckland to christchurch--our final destination. wedding updates to come! but until then...love from the west coast. -jacs

i can NOT believe you're in redondo without me. there is something so wrong about that. i wasn't sure i could miss home more than i do until the thought of you being there too! uggghhh. counting the months until your adventure collides with mine and we wreak havoc here in africa. the lions, elephants and i are anxiously waiting. hop, skip and jump yourself over here! love you...
