i'm in kenya! it is our 5th day here, and this is our first time on the internet. we had to walk 3 kilometers, take a sketchy bus for another 16, and find an internet cafe here in muchakos, kenya. what an adventure.
so far, our experiences here can all be described by one favorite phrase: this is africa.
i have never experienced culture so different from my own. it's strange, funny at times, and so beautiful.
kenya is the africa i grew up dreaming about. it is warm and green. the roads are orange dirt paths more often used by livestock than cars. the land is a vast expanse of rolling, rocky hills dotted with acacia trees and colorful huts. the enormous skies provide gorgeous panoramas every day, especially during sunset. the people are friendly, and curious, and so full of joy.
my time at the internet cafe is almost up, but i will definitely update again as soon as i can! hopefully with pictures and lots of stories.
